Played a key role in designing and implementing 5G millimeter-wave RF relay to enhance service coverage and data throughput, which involves designing system architecture based on the 5G NR standard, proposing signal processing algorithms that detect 5G synchronization signals and decode PBCH data.• Designed and implemented the echo cancellation and downlink/uplink activity detection using Matlab/Simulink, optimized the RTL generated by the Matlab HDL coder for Xilinx FPGA devices, developed Python firmware to bring up the TDD system, provided field assistance to validation engineers, etc. • Proposed and implemented hardware/firmware modules for 5G RF front-end impairments calibration, including IQ imbalance, LOFT, phase offset, etc.• Developed Python modules that implement physical-layer processing for OFDM signals, which consist of channel estimation, waveform demodulation, timing/gain calibration, etc. • Implemented Python modules that integrate waveform playback, capturing, analysis, and EVM characterization.• Developed functions and procedures for RF board/chip initialization and bring-up, which involves initialization of the communication between processors and RF chips, register programming, calibration, and debugging.• Developed Matlab models to simulate and verify the behavior of analog/RF circuits, including PLL, Delta-Sigma modulator.
