London, GB

Strategic and operational leadership of NHS England’s Medicines Access team: a cross functional group of ex-industry specialists, policy professionals and health economists to deliver national access policy and develop novel commercial models for new medicines.• Lead negotiator for NHS England in the 2024 Voluntary Scheme for Branded Medicines Pricing Access and Growth (VPAG) negotiations, successfully securing a new voluntary agreement between industry, DHSC and the NHS. Working in a rapidly changing environment, translated between government and industry access, uptake and investment negotiation positions, to successfully secure various commitments, including the creation of a novel £400m investment fund.• Consulted with industry and government to deliver changes to the commercial framework for new medicines – introducing an approach to indication-based pricing, an increase to the budget impact test threshold, and launching pilots of outcomes-based pricing agreements.• Influencing government proposals for the only end-to-end access pathway in the world - a refreshed Innovative Licencing and Access Pathway (ILAP), with the NHS joining as full partners. The new pathway will launch in March 2025 and will accelerate timely access and proactively ensure system preparedness ahead of product launches.• Strong people leader, having managed my team through downsizing, maintaining morale through impactful emotional intelligence, robust prioritisation and a focus on development.
