Jack Thompson is Georgia Tech’s Senior Associate Director of Athletics for Development and Senior Director of Development of the Alexander-Tharpe Fund, the fundraising arm of the Georgia Tech Athletic Association.In 2004, he was named an honorary alumnus of Georgia Tech. The National Association of Athletic Development Directors recognized him in 2005 as the National Fundraiser of the Year and he received the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award at the NACDA Convention in Orlando in June 2011. He has worked for seven Division I Athletic Directors in his career.Under Thompson’s leadership, Georgia Tech has a fourteen-year record of being among the leaders of the Atlantic Coast Conference, as well as in the nation, in per capita fund raising; with gifts and pledges totaling more than $230 million in the past nine years. The Georgia Tech Athletic Endowment Fund has reached $114 Million. Georgia Tech Athletics was recognized by the Chronicle of Higher Education as 18th in overall rank in donations among the 6 major conferences.
