Dr. Monell is a seasoned expert with over 32 years of experience in social work and criminal justice. As a scholar practitioner and activist, he has worked across nonprofit, local, state, and federal government agencies, bringing a wealth of knowledge and firsthand experience to his work.In addition to his professional practice, Dr. Monell has taught at community colleges, undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral institutions, shaping future leaders in the field. As a national trainer, he provides technical and supportive services to agencies at all levels, helping to advance best practices and meaningful reforms.His commitment to social justice extends beyond the United States as he has traveled extensively, collaborating with scholars, practitioners, and civil rights organizations to address systemic issues and drive change on a global scale.He is guided by James Baldwin’s insight, “The paradox of education is precisely this, that as one begins to become conscious, one begins to examine the society in which he is being educated.” Dr. Monell remains dedicated to challenging inequities, educating communities, and inspiring transformation.
