About Jack Callahan

I have a Masters in Public Service Administration from the Bush School of Government and Public Service with a focus on local governance. At the National Association of Counties, I work on three local economic development programs: the Economic Recovery Corps Program, Building Resilient Economic Coal Communities and the Gate\'s funded Counties for Economic Mobility Initiative. I elevate each projects visibility through crafting a compelling narrative on equitable economic development while identifying best practices for county governments in the economic development sphere. Additionally, I promote collaboration between nonprofit, for profit and government entities (state agencies, municipal governments, etc.) to address common problems that prevent each organization from mission statement success. Prior to this position, I was a Graduate Assistant for Research, where I used statistical software to clean and analyze data regarding the effects of housing policy. I have interned with the Texas General Land Office - Community Development & Revitalization division auditing Community Development Block Grants for housing projects related to disaster recovery and mitigation. I had the opportunity to develop training videos and guidance documents regarding monitoring procedures. Before this transition to disaster recovery and housing policy I interned with Teach For America as an Ignite Fellow tutoring students virtually in Jackson, MS.
