My primary responsibility at Poole Fire Protection is to provide a VISION and LEADERSHIP to achieve the Vision and Goals to grow Poole Fire Protection.I also am involved in the day-to-day activities of code consulting, life safety analyses, design of engineering alternatives, fire protection system design and construction management services. My goal is to be an Innovative Leader in Fire Protection Engineering and Code Consulting and be a Trusted Partner in the Industry.Specialties: My expertise includes designing fire suppression and detection systems; conducting fire hazards analyses and fire risk assessments; administering fire protection system construction management; evaluating fire protection water distribution systems; and providing legal testimony.

   Mr. Poole received a B.S. Degree in Fire Protection Engineering (FPE) from the University of Maryland (UMD), College Park, in 1986. He is a Registered FPE (P.E.) in 49 States and 3 U.S. Territories and has 29 years’ experience in the fire safety industry. He is the Principal of Poole Fire Protection, with headquarters in Olathe, Kansas and a regional office in Oklahoma City. The industry has recognized Mr. Poole and Poole Fire Protection for their efforts. In 2014, Mr. Poole was presented with the inaugural Glenn L. Martin Metal from the A. James Clark School of Engineering at the UMD. In 2015, Mr. Poole was award the Distinguished Alumni Award and was inducted into the Salamander National Fire Protection Engineering Honor Society as an Honorary Member.As an alumni of the UMD, Mr. Poole serves as the Co-Chairman on the UMD FPE Board of Visitors, is a member of the FPE Curriculum Advisory Committee, served on the Clinical Professor Search Committee, is a Past Co-Chairman of the FPE Alumni Club and serves on the Legacy Campaign Committee for the Professor of the Practice. In addition to being a Fellow of the SFPE, he is on the SFPE Board of Directors and the current Secretary-Treasurer. He serves as a member of several NFPA Technical Committees, the International Code Council, Society of American Military Engineers, National Society of Professional Engineers, Kansas Society of Professional Engineers, is a Past President of the American Backflow Prevention Association and was the Assistant Chief of Prevention/Fire Marshal for the South Johnson County Fire District No. 2 for 6 years. Jack serves on the South-Central Zoning Board for Johnson County Kansas and the Johnson County Board of Code Review.Mr. Poole is married to his wife and business partner Laura, and they have two children. Drew has completed his B.S. and M.S. in FPE, and M.S. Engineering Management, from the UMD. Stephanie is currently obtaining her B.S. degree in FPE from the UMD.
