About Jack Grace

I am a Junior Engineer at Mighty Rabbit studios, where I\'ve gotten to develop the game Cylinder: Puzzles Returned in Unity. I joined during the game\'s development and so jumped right into the middle of development on an established codebase where I worked on gameplay features and optimizations, UI streamlining, UX & QoL improvements, and even some internal tooling! In Spring of 2024, I graduated Summa Cum Laude from NC State University with a degree in Computer Science with a Game Development concentration, and a minor in Psychology. I Maintained a 4.0 GPA, Received the Computer Science Department\'s Senior Award for Leadership, and was the President of the Video Game Development Club @ NC State, where we worked to tutor other students in game development and foster a community for developers.As a game developer, I have engineered gameplay mechanics and systems to allow for unique and interesting gameplay. In the Summer of 2023, I worked at Pearson to develop engaging VR experiences. Additionally, I developed games throughout college such as Volatile, a survival game implementing a cellular automata-based changing terrain system.As a software engineer, I have developed data analysis engines using SQL and Microsoft SQL Server to perform ETL operations in an EDW. I have additionally automated these engines and provided optimization and security improvements on existing systems. Outside of development, I have organized and managed small and large-scale events. Two years in a row at NCSU I spearheaded a collaboration with multiple school organizations to run a charity event through Extra Life that raised over two years in a row. I have also taught children computer science foundations and mentored fellow student game developers.
