About Jack Gebhart
Across my career I have held many titles, but at the end of the day I am a curiosity-driven problem solver. As a Program Manager I have a track record of leading teams to successful on time delivery of fantastic products. This is bolstered by my background in data engineering and heavily informed and influenced by my service in the United States Marine Corps; both as a leader and as a member of a high performing team of Network Engineers. I have a history of demonstrated success in mentoring and training subordinates and peers, as well engaging with superiors and other stakeholders to drive the best results possible through concise and efficient action. My experience includes everything from tipping/running cat5 and managing a help desk, to planning, executing, and launching digital products in global markets. I am currently engaged as a Senior Program Manager at Mastercard working with the Commercial Connect API and Account to Account teams. We smooth the friction of B2B and commercial transactions, seeking to make business purchases as simple as consumer spending. My approach to Program Management is rooted in curiosity. I have a strong desire to understand my space and understand how we fit into the \"big machine\" of the business. Shipping high quality software that adds business and customer value is my primary goal. A strong secondary objective is the careful, thoughtful, and intentional refinement of our interactions and points of integration with our peers and partners. My leadership philosophy is shaped in large part my experience in the United States Marine Corps and the 11 Marine Corps Leadership Principles, as well as the Agile Manifesto. It\'s flavored along the way by impactful leaders I have encountered and had the privilege to work with. All of this is built on a foundation of diversity, equality, and inclusivity. It is best summarized as:\"I take care of the team, the team takes care of the work\".At the end of the day, I am successful when the teams I support are successful. I nudge, poke, align, and herd the various aspects of the work from dev to prod. I promote agile mindsets and processes. All of that pushes my primary objective for the space I contribute to: fostering a collaborative environment built on a positive, generative, high performing culture.
