From 2002 to 2014, I served as President of the International Center on Nonviolent Conflict (ICNC). From 2015 through 2017, I was Senior Counselor and Founding Director of ICNC. In January 2018, I became available as an independent advisor for civic, public affairs, editorial, and development-related work, primarily for nonprofit organizations - and continued my informal affiliation with ICNC as Founding Director Emeritus.

ABOUT JACK DUVALL
From 1990 to 2001, Jack DuVall directed Mars Hill in its work to assist media and broadcast organizations, nonprofit organizations, university programs and institutes, foundations, and international agencies and centers. From 2002 until 2018, he was Director and then President of the International Center on Nonviolent Conflict (ICNC). In 2018, he became Founding Director Emeritus of ICNC, and has recontinued his work - primarily in writing, editing and public speaking - through Mars Hill. As a practitioner, Mr. DuVall’s strengths include:(1) Writing and editing articles, reports and books,(2) Public speaking on behalf of public and private organizations, and speechwriting for their leaders,(3) Shaping and directing the content of media and broadcast programs,(4) Fundraising, particularly aimed at corporations and foundations,(5) Improving relations between public and nonprofit organizations and their programs and constituencies, and (6) Research and field assessments. The areas of knowledge that he has brought to organizations with which he works include:(a) public campaigns aimed at educating and mobilizing civil society,(b) the ideas and issues that have to be clarified and understood, in order for change to happen.(c) political campaigns for elective office, focusing on what candidates stand for, and (d) nonviolent movements for social and political change,
