About Jack Carter

I am an end-to-end director of drug discovery programs at Prelude Therapeutics and current lead of oral KAT6A degrader and SMARCA2/4 precision ADC programs. I lead a team of experienced PhD and non-PhD scientists to drive the biology and pharmacology of these and other programs, as well as playing a leading role in novel target identification, validation, prioritization, and strategic development.In my role, I communicate key progresses and challenges directly with executive, business development, and c-suite leadership, coordinate with multi-disciplinary internal and external team leaders (chemistry, DMPK, toxicology, screening, collaborators, etc.), and have led the biology and pharmacology strategy for a multi-organization collaboration.Throughout my industry tenure, I have led discovery programs that utilize a range of modalities including small molecule inhibitors, protein degraders, and degrader-antibody conjugates. In totality, my industry work has been exemplified through high-level contributions to multiple IND filings, program leadership directly resulting in value realization through asset licensing, and multiple first author publications, patent inventorships, and oral presentations at major research conferences.
