About Jack Barrett

As a Legislative Correspondent for U.S. Senator Deb Fischer (R-NE), I’m driven by a deep commitment to public service, clear communication, and effective policy work. I began my journey on Capitol Hill as an intern, assisting with hearings, logging constituent concerns, and leading Capitol tours. That experience led to a full-time role as Staff Assistant, where I managed high-volume communications, coordinated inaugural ticket distribution for over Nebraskans, and supported the legislative team in various capacities. Now as a Legislative Correspondent, I primarily draft vote recommendation memos, policy briefings, and constituent letters on topics ranging from immigration and Social Security to veterans’ affairs and housing. Each step in this progression has deepened my understanding of the legislative process and strengthened my commitment to serving the people of Nebraska. I earned my B.A. in Political Science with a minor in Legal Studies from Colorado State University, where I was actively involved in student leadership. I served as a Senator in the Associated Students of CSU, a liaison to the Residence Hall Association, and Secretary of the Dean’s Leadership Council for the College of Liberal Arts.
