The fact that Earth is in human hands fills me with optimism. I believe that our capability to develop and deploy technologies gives us enormous agency to shape our future and the future of the planet. Sometimes, those technologies look like modeling tools that allow us to plan for the future and negotiate uncertainty. Other times, they look like Mainspring\'s Linear Generator - disruptive hard-tech, machines that can revolutionize how we power our lives. My current focus is blending the two; using long-term power planning models to inform where, why, and how LGens fit into the grid, lower cost, cut emissions, trim risk, and transform the availability of clean, dispatchable power.
