About Jack B. Neary
I\'m a writer, editor, and content strategist based in Brooklyn who\'s powered e-commerce startups and SaaS companies alike through engaging copy, effective email marketing, and good old-fashioned customer service. In my free time, I enjoy advising college students and recent grads and writing my newsletter, Dad Mag.By day, I lead content strategy at Chartbeat, Inc, an analytics platform used by major media companies. I oversee the editorial direction for both Chartbeat and its sister brands — Tubular Labs, Lineup Systems, and FatTail — building the strategy, messaging frameworks, and KPIs that guide how we communicate our value to our customers. Before advancing into this role, I spent several years getting my uniform dirty as the Content Marketing Manager where I created a cross-platform content program — think blogs, whitepapers, webinars, and events — that drove more than $4 million in new business pipeline each year.Outside of Chartbeat, I write a newsletter called Dad Mag where I tell the stories of parents balancing creativity, ambition, and fatherhood. I started writing on Substack 6 years ago under the banner of The Neary Review where I published more than 200 essays on work, art, and culture and reached readers in over 30 states and a dozen countries.Earlier in my career, I crafted the voice and built up the community at Litographs, an e-commerce brand that turns literature into art and merchandise. I grew our following to hundreds of thousands across social platforms and email subscribers, and generated more than $1 million in revenue from email campaigns.Just for fun I also co-founded a small DTC cold brew company called Canary Cold Brew, where I led brand development and marketing, including a successful crowdfunding campaign and coverage in Fast Company. It all goes back to studying English at Boston College, where I owe a debt of gratitude to Father Farrell who didn’t blink when I came into his office as a freshman and told him I was interested in the major. Throughout my career I’ve tried to remember that student and that spark so I can write the kind of stories he’d want to read.

I developed and implemented the current content strategy for both Chartbeat and Tubular Labs. On an ongoing basis, I lead editorial planning and messaging frameworks, ensuring consistent voice and narrative across all channels, and I own content performance measurement—defining KPIs, building dashboards, and using data to educate our team and optimize distribution and formats.
