ABOUT JANAYE THURSTON

Born and raised in Miami Florida, Ja’Naye Thurston’s love for dance has been the foundation of her motivation to push forward, and succeed in life. Her passion for the arts started as she became involved in her community’s dance teams, churches, and other performing outlets. She auditioned and was accepted into PAVAC magnet program at Miami northwestern, where she later become a member of Young contemporary dance theater founded by Traci Young Byron.Ja’Naye was later accepted to New World School of the Arts as a Dance major. She however received an opportunity to be a part of the Miami Heat Dance Team and made the decision to pursue her dream as a professional dancer. This was only the beginning of her thriving career as a performer. Janaye’s talent opened doors to touring the world with well-known artists following into her relocation to Los Angeles, California. Learning and appreciating the importance of freedom within movement and the body, she yearns to share her love for dance and the beauty of what the partnership between music and the body can allow for the mind. After two years she decided to bring her arts back to Miami Florida where she started SOULitude Dance and Flexibility. She has devoted her life to the art of dance, and the functions and magical powers of the body. This has led to the birth of SOULitude dance. SOULitude means Soul + attitude, which relates to the mind and the body. In movement this illustrates dance and flexibility. Building a relationship between the two allows an individual freedom of mental and physical abilities. Starting this ritual at a early age opens doors for success throughout all areas of life. your child deserves an opportunity to explore his or her self, while grasping all the magic potential’s in this world.
