As a project designer, my role has been to collaborate with our clients to establish a clear and compelling project vision; to develop that vision with our team of talented professionals; and to deliver well crafted, community focused projects. While my experience has spanned multiple project types — from healthcare to resorts, schools to corporate campuses — my primary focus for over a decade has been to help shape invigorating communities through the design of housing. I have worked across a wide array of multi family projects, including affordable, luxury, market rate housing in both rental and ownership models as well as senior living communities and student-focused housing. While every project is unique, the all offer opportunities to create places that elevate day-to-day life for the residents, and build upon or catalyze their neighborhoods. The impact that housing has on lives and on communities is immense and it is that impact that draws be back time and time again.

ABOUT JEREMIAH JOHNSON
What gets me out of bed in the morning is the joy that comes from artfully solving problems. I believe in the possibility to create good and well-crafted designs regardless of constraints, and more so because of them. Architecture thrives in the push and pull of reality; it shapes and is shaped by the world we live in. There is something both humbling and empowering in that reality.As a Senior Project Designer at Cuningham and design leader in our Multifamily Housing Studio, I\'ve had the privilege of working on numerous community-focused projects that enhance residents\' day-to-day lives and revitalize their neighborhoods. While I\'ve worked on a wide variety of project types, I specialize in designing housing, including affordable, luxury, market-rate, senior living communities, and student-focused housing. With over a decade of experience, I specialize in designing housing, including affordable, luxury, market-rate, senior living communities, and student-focused housing.Over the years I have been fortunate to work with fantastic clients and project teams, resulting in projects that have received numerous awards, including the Top Project 2019 award from Finance and Commerce and the NAIOP Award of Excellence 2020 for RAFTER, a high-rise apartment tower in Minneapolis. Additionally, the nationally recognized affordable housing community, Mino-Bimaadiziwin, has received two AIA Minneapolis Merit Awards among others. Our work has also been featured in various media outlets, including Architect Magazine, NPR News, Canadian Architect, and the Star Tribune.I earned my degree from North Dakota State University in 2009 and started my design career at a small satellite office of Cuningham in Bakersfield, California. I\'ve been practicing from the Minneapolis office since 2011 and am an active member of the local AIA chapter. I\'m also a graduate of their AIA Leadership Forum program.When I\'m not working, I\'m a multi-hobbyist and life-long learner. I\'m passionate about travel, photography, printmaking, painting, literature, philosophy, gardening, fishing, camping, hiking, programming, electronics, old cars, and anything else that sparks my interest.
