August 2013 – to present, Director of the Office of EOWS, I am responsible for providing Civil Rights services for over 12,500 employees and Workforce Services for civilians and the minority and small business community statewide. North Carolina is second to Texas with the largest highway system in the country. With a budget of over $25 Million Dollars, I provide the management, support and oversight for six (8) senior level managers (all direct reports), over 50 employees, to include consultants and contractors. My overall responsibilities are to provide oversight and to assure the compliance of the following Civil Rights Programs In addition, I am responsible for the following 20 Programs/Units: External Civil Rights Programs: Title VI and Nondiscrimination, Environmental Justice, Limited English Proficiency, Contract Compliance, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)/Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 Internal Civil Rights Programs: EEO Program, Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Counseling, Affirmative Action, Investigating External Complaints of Discrimination, Alternative Dispute\\Resolution/Mediation, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)/Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.
