ABOUT J LACKMAN

With over 15 years of experience in the architecture and construction industries, I am a seasoned Project Manager / Architect with a strong record of delivering complex, large-scale developments valued from $1 million to over $1 billion. My project portfolio includes low-rise, mid-rise, high-rise residential towers, luxury hotels, and mixed-use developments across North America. Providing full-cycle project leadership—from Land Use Amendments, Programming, and Schematic Design through Development and Building Permits, Tendering, and Contract/Construction Administration. I also bring specialized expertise in Adaptive Reuse, Passive House Design, Lifecycle Analysis, and Facility Condition Assessments. Routinely manage large, multidisciplinary teams—including internal staff and external consultants—across remote, hybrid, and in-office environments. In addition to technical oversight, I handle project budgets, schedule tracking, and invoice management to ensure fiscal discipline and alignment with client objectives. Well-versed in municipal planning and regulatory processes, I actively engage with the City of Calgary’s Planning Department, Urban Design Review Panel (UDRP), Calgary Planning Commission (CPC), public hearings, and council meetings. Legally authorized to work and travel in both Canada and the United States, I bring cross-border flexibility and a collaborative approach to high-performance, design-driven projects.
