Max represents clients on a full catalog of matters, including rate proceedings, transmission, electric and renewable generation siting, permitting, and mergers and acquisitions.Recent matters include: Represented the US arm of a Danish energy company before the Maryland PSC to secure approvals to construct significant additional offshore wind generation off the Delmarva coast. Represented Canadian natural gas company in obtaining regulatory approval in Maryland and the District of Columbia for its $9 billion acquisition of local natural gas distribution company, creating a $17 billion North American energy companyRepresented as lead Maryland regulatory counsel, a developer of high voltage transmission lines to successfully obtain a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity to construct the Maryland portions of two transmission lines located in Harford and Washington Counties. Worked with state and local agencies along with impacted landowners to settle siting concerns and obtained Maryland Public Service Commission approval of the first greenfield transmission project in decades. Represented, as lead Maryland regulatory counsel, one of the nation\'s largest electric and gas distribution utility holding companies in its acquisition of a Maryland local electric distribution utility in their 2016 merger, securing approval of the Maryland PSC for the approximately $6.8 billion merger to proceed,
