About James Esteban
I am a fellowship-trained and board-certified transplant hepatologist and gastroenterologist, with an active and robust clinical practice caring for patients with alcohol- and metabolic dysfunction-related steatotic liver diseases, autoimmune and metabolic liver diseases, viral hepatitis, cirrhosis and portal hypertension, liver cancers, and liver transplantation. I am principal investigator in device and drug clinical trials on portal hypertension and acute-on-chronic liver failure. I use big data analytics to investigate risk factors for metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) and liver transplantation outcomes. I have published in these areas and presented in international scientific conferences in Hepatology (e.g, AASLD, EASL, and DDW).I collaborate with other physicians, pharmacists, allied health professionals, researchers, and biostatisticians in direct patient care, quality improvement projects, grant writing, and publications. I also have an interest in effective data visualization and presentation to increase the impact of presentations, publications, and medical communications.
