Within this project being carried out by the West Virginia Career Collaborative funded through the ARC POWER Grant I have:Contributed to the research of career search best practices through the gathering of online resources, as well as conducting interviews with local professionals. This was done in an effort to create effective learning tools to help improve job readiness in middle and high school, technical, vocational, and college students, as well as individuals who have been laid off, are transitioning back into the workplace, looking to enter a new career field, or are looking for work of any kind within the state of West Virginia.I have helped to convert this research into scripts, and other writings. These written documents have been used to create interesting, accessible resources, including a manual, speech and presentation, short form- TikTok length videos, and a long form YouTube Length video. These resources aim to aid in the preparation of joining the workforce, teach professional skills that will help individuals adapt and become more easily acclimated to typical workplace culture, and set individuals up for success in their future careers.In addition to this, I have helped to lead and direct my internship colleagues in tasks that should be completed to complete the goals that we had been assigned and support the mission of the ARC POWER Up Grant.I have also completed a Power Skills Certification Course through High Rocks. Through this course, I received professional development training in areas including Initiative and Leadership, Time Management and Prioritization, Adaptability and Flexibility, Focus and Productivity, and Workplace Communication.
