As a volunteer, I have- Coordinated and participated in a multigenerational systems-thinking retreat discussing technology, grassroots organizing, and creative collaboration- Engaged with professionals across industries in the “AI and Us” working group to explore AI\'s social impact and risk landscape- Explored possibilities for a Bioregional Organizing Hub in the Vancouver area, brainstorming key connections and funding opportunities with a core team of ~10 people.

ABOUT IZZIE ISABELLE BJONNESS-JACOBSEN
Hello! I\'m Izzie, a student in the Master of Community and Regional Planning (MCRP) program at the University of British Columbia (UBC). I am passionate about community-engaged planning for a more vibrant, sustainable, and equitable future. In 2024, I graduated from UBC\'s self-structured B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies, where I dove into a diverse array of academic interests in Human Geography, Urban Studies, and Gender, Race, Sexuality & Social Justice. I am also grateful to have had the opportunity to immerse myself in a 4-month exchange at the National University of Singapore. Drawing from my experience as an accessibility mentor, graduate teaching assistant, and student services professional, I know how to excel in independent and collaborative environments with high standards for creativity and attention to detail.I am currently seeking full-time employment as a planner following my graduation from the MCRP program in November 2026. However, as a lifelong learner driven to continually develop new skills and expand my mind, I\'m excited to explore new possibilities wherever they may emerge. Feel free to get in touch!
