About Ivy Olson

I\'m a Registered Nurse with ten years of experience including medical/surgical/telemetry units, quality improvement in a clinic setting and clinic management over a family and internal medication practice. I have worked as a charge nurse where I oversaw patient admissions, discharges and transfers on a 27 bed unit while providing support for staff and delegating appropriate patient assignments based on acuity. I collaborated with other healthcare professionals including physicians, physical and occupational therapists, and case managers to develop, revise and maintain patient care plans based on their individual needs. I have extensive experience as a preceptor where I would orient and mentor new nurses and nursing students. Aside from working as an acute care nurse in a hospital setting I also worked as a Nurse Quality Supervisor where I focused on ensuring the medical practice was operating and utilizing up to date safety practices and correctly following the organizations policies and procedures. In this role I also oversaw our physicians quality scores and collaborated with the medical director on ways to improve scores. From my position as a Nurse Quality Supervisor I was promoted into the Clinic Manager position where I oversaw all operations for the clinic, including developing and adhering to annual budget, recruiting and managing staff, coached staff through professional development and conflict resolutions, worked with professional teams, marketing and IT to support ongoing initiatives and rollouts. Currently I am working as a Travel Nurse with a goal to apply all of my knowledge into quality improvement and utilization review nursing in order to help healthcare professionals and patients receive the best possible care.
