ABOUT IVO MALJEVIC

I work at the intersection of radio spectrum, wireless system design, and global standards. As a long-time 3GPP RAN4 and RANP delegate, and rapporteur for two work items, I focus on the technical foundations that make modern wireless systems function in practice. My experience spans spectrum strategy, regulatory work (ISED), coexistence studies, and solving RF challenges such as PFD limits, intermodulation, and carrier aggregation planning. I also provided technical leadership within the RABC, evaluating satellite–terrestrial coexistence and shaping recommendations that influence national spectrum policy.I’ve published over 20 papers and tutorials and wrote Cellular Radio Access Networks: RF Fundamentals and Protocols. For almost two decades, I’ve also taught undergraduate and graduate courses at the University of Toronto, which keeps me grounded in fundamentals and clear explanations. At heart, I like difficult technical problems, clean reasoning, and contributing to standards and systems used by billions, even if most people never think about the engineering underneath.
