I am domestic violence services advocate and researcher on the feminization of migration, immigration relief for domestic violence survivors, and the intersections of gender-based violence and policy. I hold an MA in Women\'s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies from University at Albany - SUNY and a BA in International Studies, major in European Studies and Minor in Development Studies from De La Salle University - Manila. I currently work as an Advocate in the Domestic Violence Services (Outreach) department at Equinox Inc. in Albany NY, providing court-based and community advocacy, crisis intervention, safety planning, and systems navigation for survivors navigating legal and social service systems.

   I provide trauma-informed, survivor-centered advocacy and crisis intervention to individuals and families impacted by domestic violence through court-based and community services. My role includes accompanying and advocating for clients in family and criminal courts, law enforcement, and other community agencies, assisting with orders of protection, custody and child support matters, safety planning, and domestic violence education.I respond to walk-in clients, the Equinox 24-hour hotline, and crisis chat line, providing crisis intervention, supportive listening, referrals, eligibility assessments, and direct services including emergency domestic violence shelter and alternative safety options. I maintain accurate and confidential client records in compliance with program, regulatory, and funding requirements and fulfill responsibilities as a mandated reporter.I contribute to Albany County\'s coordinated response to domestic violence in the NYS DCJS\' STRIVE initiative by providing on-call advocacy support and collaborating with the Albany Police Department, Cohoes Police Department, and the Albany County District Attorney\'s office to support victim-survivors through crisis response and system navigation.
