The City of Almere, the Ministry of the Interior Affairs and Kingdom Relations and the Central Government Real Estate Agency are the initiators of the Woningbouwatelier (‘housing atelier’). The Woningbouwatelier is part of the Almere2.0 program through which the National Government, the Province of Flevoland and the City of Almere cooperate on the future growth of Almere.The Woningbouwatelier brings together new concepts, knowledge and the experience of innovative parties in housing and uses experiments to pursue innovation. It’s ‘innovating by doing’ in living lab Almere. The step to actual realisation distinguishes the Woningbouwatelier from other innovation hubs.I have been leading the atelier and among other things are responsible for the WikiHouse experiment,As part of the WikiHouse experiment and together with European partners in Ireland, Engeland, Germany and Belgium we applied for an Interreg subsidy which has been granted.The WikiHouse projects has been nominated for several awards, including- The Almere Architecture Award: Winner- Arc22 Innovation Award: 2nd place- CoBouw Innovation Award: shortlisted- CoBouw Sustainability Award: shortlisted
