ABOUT IVAN SALLES

Born and raised in the suburbs of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, my career is marked by my determination to transform adversity into opportunity. Amidst urban violence and a lack of prospects, I saw the emerging Internet and technology as a way to break the cycle of limitations that surrounded me.When I was young, I worked as an office boy to invest in my first IT certification, the starting point of a path that would take me through Consulting companies, Vendors, and System Integrators. This journey of over 20 years gave me a multifaceted vision of the sector, with experience in security operations, pre-sales, sales, and projects.With no English skills, international contacts, or job offers abroad, many would say that moving to a foreign country would be impossible. However, with meticulous planning and a certain amount of courage to take the next step, I moved with my wife and three children to Canada.I started working on the factory floor of an automaker while studying English with the dedication of someone who did not have many chances to make mistakes. Today, after 6 years in frozen lands, we celebrate our Canadian citizenship and look back with gratitude on the path we have travelled.For the past 13 years, I have dedicated myself to Cybersecurity, specializing in Security Operations Centers (SOC). I currently manage a global team of SOC specialists, applying my ability to transform challenging scenarios into efficient solutions on a daily basis.I seek to identify potential where others see only problems, converting obstacles into levers for innovation and growth.I believe that the most significant achievements arise when we do not conform to life\'s limitations.I seek to inspire and support people who are not content with dreaming but are willing to build their paths with resilience and a transformative vision.I am always open to connections with professionals who share this mindset of overcoming, learning and constant transformation.
