ABOUT IVAN MERELLI
Ivan received a MSc in Biomedical Engineering from the Politecnico di Milano (Italy) in 2003, earned a PhD in Computer Science from the Università di Milano – Bicocca in 2009, and is staff scientist at Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche since 2011. In the context of the scientific collaboration among Fondazione Telethon, Ospedale San Raffaele, and Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche, he is Manager of the Bioinformatics Core at SR-Tiget. His main research activities concern the bioinformatic analysis of biological data, with a particular interest in sequencing datasets from genomics, transcriptomics, and epigenetics. He works at the deployment of computational environments and pipelines for data analysis, at the integration of multi-omic datasets using different statistical and modelling approaches, and, more generally, at the development of software, databases, and web applications to provide a user-friendly access to biological datasets. He is also expert in the management of high-performance computational infrastructures (cluster, cloud, storage, and GPU facilities) for treating data produced using high-throughput technologies of molecular biology.
