About Ivan Guerrero
Ivan Guerrero has been creating visual effects since he got his first computer—an IBM PCjr—at age ten, shortly after moving to Boston, Massachusetts from Caracas, Venezuela. A graduate of Vassar College, he pursued a PhD. in molecular biology—including a stint on the Human Genome Project at Children’s Hospital in Boston—before pivoting to his childhood passion, computer animation. For the past 25 years, he has poured his love of storytelling and his technical expertise into visual effects for commercials, episodic television, and films. Projects Ivan has worked on include Black Panther, Deadpool 2, The Smurfs, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, I Am Legend, Dark Universe (which recently completed a six-year run at The American Museum of Natural History’s Hayden Planetarium), and HBO’s acclaimed series High Maintenance. Currently a Visual Effects Supervisor at Method NY, Ivan lives in Brooklyn with his family.
