About Aparna Chowdary
I’m Aparna, a Sophomore at IIT Madras, ranked #1 in India by NIRF.I’m pursuing a B.Tech in Engineering Design, an interdisciplinary program at IITM that blends mechanical, electrical, and computer engineering with design thinking and creativity. The program focuses on designing and refining systems, products, and processes that are user-centered, reliable, and innovative.I’m an adept conversationalist with a strong vocabulary, and a curious learner, always eager to explore new ideas through research and reading. I deeply enjoy learning from diverse sources - from Reddit discussions and news analyses, to books about human psychology (which have recently piqued my interest).I am skilled at and particularly drawn to managerial roles where strategy, coordination, and people-centric thinking come together. My role as Manager at Startup Services, E-Cell IITM involves enabling early-stage founders, coordinating collaborations with investors and incubators, and strengthening the entrepreneurial ecosystem on campus.I enjoy research-oriented work. I\'m a Project Member for StarSpec at Horizon, the Physics and Astronomy club at IITM. We work on stellar and solar spectroscopy to capture real astronomical spectra and make research contributions in a growing field in India.Outside academics, I’m passionate about many things: photography - which I love and practice avidly, music, formula racing, behavioural science, writing, reading first-person narratives, product design, and the Indian startup ecosystem. I also love playing the Veena to destress.I\'m always open to conversations and opportunities to learn and build.
