Hi there! I’m Itisikta, a passionate designer with a deep rooted love for threads, textures and storytelling through design. My journey into the world of textiles began at the age of 12 when I saw my mother sewing a tassel onto her dupatta. The sight of threads coming together sparked a fascination that has stayed with me ever since.Beyond the craft of design, I derive inspiration from human emotions, intimacy and care. These elements influence the colors, textures and patterns I create, designs aiming to evoke a sense of connection and warmth.Professionally, my journey has been shaped by insightful experiences:NIFT Internship: I collaborated with Lipsa Hembrum at Galang Gabaan, where we developed sarees and worked towards creating a new weavers cooperative society to revive the fading ikat tradition of Odisha.Graduation Project with Aman Exports: I worked with German buyer Ernsting’s Family to gain a deep understanding of the technical aspects of garment construction for womenswear.Design Role at Laguna Clothing: I specialised in menswear, working closely with European clients such as Tommy Hilfiger and Calvin Klein which honed my understanding of international markets and categories.Current Role at Scalesauce: Leading the product design team, I’m redefining spaces through thoughtful design. I design products for brands like Stoa Paris and Quirkloom, focusing on home spaces and lifestyle.Outside of work, I find joy in reading, walking, sitting by the beach and watching movies.
