   Engineering project manager in charge of the Brownsville, TX plant machining, assembly and warehouse operations. Capital investment planning depending on the plant’s production needs is done annually, along with capital investment justification, NPV and ROI analysis for funds approval and project execution from vendor sourcing, contract negotiation, spend plan, process design, equipment installation and operator training. As engineering project manager, I lead a cross-functional team to define a timeline with milestones, keeping the customer’s needs in mind. I also lead vendor negotiations on lead times, equipment cost and, purchasing and payment agreement to align with company standards. Establishing project’s KPIs is vital to project on-time implementation and early detection of project’s setbacks is essential to keep the project on schedule and in budget. When a situation arises that puts the project in jeopardy, I use my lean six sigma problem solving techniques to find a root cause and get an optimum solution. Along with my project engineering duties, I also lead the plant in operational excellence practices by planning and managing 2 black belt practitioners and 2 green belt practitioners. In this job function, I train shop and office personnel on basic lean principles and create a continuous improvement mentality in employees. To evaluate the business, I monitor the company’s KPI’s and COGS to review improvement needs. Mueller has implemented SEAL, for improving the safety of the associates. I am in charge of the ergonomics and management of change section, to comply with the company policy and assure that the processes and process changes are ergonomic and well communicated.
