Recruit and organize student volunteers to build assistive, adaptable devices for people with disabilities in the Halifax community-Projects include building accessible water tables for children in wheelchairs, a 2-in-1 walker and wheelchair and quadriplegic independent catheter device-Initiated a collaboration with the IWK Health’s Adaptive Loan Program, working with a large team of physical/occupational therapists in designing adaptive tools for children with physical disabilities.

ABOUT ISPEETA AHMED
I am an Electrical Engineering student at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. I am one of the 50 engineering recipients in the 2022 batch of the Schulich Leader Scholarship - a national scholarship awarded to the top STEM students in Canada. I am also grateful to be one of five Canadian youths who received the 2022 Ingenium-NSERC Steam Horizon Award. Overall, I am passionate about research and STEM outreach. My main goal in the future is to focus on applied sciences research in Biomedical Engineering. Let me know if you have any opportunities or an idea to pitch!
