As part of the Area Transportation Planning unit, I manage and lead a number of Neighbourhood Streets Plans (NSP) across Toronto. NSPs are community-focused transportation planning initiatives that aim to improve road safety, accessibility, and the overall travel experience for all road users. My work involves engaging local residents and stakeholders, analyzing transportation conditions, and developing actionable recommendations to support safer, more connected and more inclusive neighbourhoods.

ABOUT ISOODA NIROOMAND
Isooda Niroomand is a passionate planner and an active transportation enthusiast with experience in urban planning, transportation planning, and Design. Since 2019 she has been working as a School Travel Planner with Green Communities Canada. In partnership with Vision Zero Toronto, Isoo has been facilitating communication between school committees, community members, the City of Toronto staff, the Toronto Catholic District School Board, and other responsible stakeholders to improve existing infrastructures for safe and active school travels.She views planning and design through a human-centred lens and believes the answer to more empowered communities is in using inclusive processes and meaningful engagement. This was the biggest motivation for her to pursue her second master’s degree in Engineering Design ( Human-Centred Design and Sustainable Community Infrastructure)at McMaster University in 2017.
