ABOUT ISLAM SOLIMAN

I am a professional engineer with 20 years of experience in the civil / structural engineering fields and project management. This is combined with solid background in the wind and seismic engineering, structural dynamics and vibration of buildings and rotating equipment foundation systems (similar to slurry pumps, compressors, crushers, conveyers and turbine-generators) where the core of my Master and Doctorate researches have focused on. With broad experience in different phases of project execution from feasibility to detailed engineering for Greenfields and Brownfields, I support the design of Oil & Gas, earthwork, industrial, wind farms, institutional, healthcare, recreational and governmental projects. In addition to preforming engineering design for process and non-process buildings, I provide technical assistance to vendors and construction sites. My knowledge and experience in structural control, structural dynamics, soil-structure interaction and finite element analysis allow me to dynamically analyze and control the vibration response of high-rise buildings and rotating equipment foundation systems under dynamic loads utilizing passive, semi-active and active dampers. I am skilled in the use of many commercial and research software and I am the author of several research and structural engineering articles.
