About Iryna Sikora
I’m a Senior Economist in the World Bank’s Global Trade Unit (Extended Term Consultant), working on trade policy and its links to the environment. My work focuses on developing clear, evidence-based analytics and translating them into implementable policy solutions.Over the years, I’ve worked extensively on energy and environmental issues and continue to bridge core trade work with adjacent areas related to sustainability. I’m particularly interested in how trade instruments and regulatory frameworks from other policy domains interact to shape competitiveness, integration, and development outcomes.My approach combines empirical analysis with structured economic thinking, drawing on insights from industrial organization, mechanism design, and behavioral and experimental economics. I enjoy working on complex, multi-sectoral challenges where analytics translate into policies that make a tangible difference.
