I’m really excited to share that I’ve recently been accepted to join Learning By Heart as a GCSE tutor for Science, English, Psychology, and Maths! As a first-year Public Health student at the University of Manchester, I’ve always been passionate about education and empowering others to reach their potential. Tutoring allows me to combine my academic interests with my desire to make a positive impact in my community; supporting students as they build confidence, overcome challenges, and achieve their goals.Through this volunteering role, I’m looking forward to strengthening my communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills while contributing to something meaningful. I truly believe that education has the power to transform lives, and I’m grateful to have the chance to play a small part in that process.

ABOUT ISHNOOR KAUR

I am a curious, purpose-driven changemaker who works at the intersection of public health, education, creativity, and community impact. Currently pursuing a BSc (Hons) in Public Health at the University of Manchester, I am deeply interested in how social, environmental, and structural factors shape wellbeing, and how knowledge can be translated into ethical, people-centred action. My journey is grounded in academic excellence and service. I am a recipient of the Sheikha Fatima Award for leadership and community impact, the CREST Gold Award for independent STEM research, and a full (100%) merit scholarship to the University of Cambridge Medicine Summer School after winning a global essay competition. These experiences have strengthened my commitment to systems thinking, equity, and evidence-based decision-making.Within the University, I hold multiple leadership and representative roles across academic representation, sustainability, digital storytelling, events, accommodation life, and peer engagement. I work closely with students, staff, and external stakeholders to improve academic quality, wellbeing, inclusivity, and community connection, while amplifying student voices and humanising science through creative communication.Beyond formal education, I am the founder and co-founder of youth-led education and dialogue initiatives that have mentored over 400 young people globally in communication, critical thinking, wellbeing, and self-reflection. My work spans tutoring and facilitation, curriculum design, and values-based mentorship across diverse cultural and learning contexts. I am particularly passionate about creating inclusive spaces that support confidence, identity, and ethical leadership.Creativity is central to how I think and communicate. My work includes publishing research and thought pieces on social and psychological themes, writing and directing a short film on social anxiety disorder, building reflective digital platforms rooted in mindfulness and Sikh philosophy, and leading storytelling and growth strategies for purpose-driven and AI-focused startups.I am globally minded, deeply reflective, and guided by values of service, inclusion, and lifelong learning. Above all, I seek to contribute thoughtfully; building spaces, systems, and narratives that help people feel seen, capable, and connected, while working towards healthier, more compassionate communities.
