About Ishita Chauhan

Ishita Chauhan, a passionate and diligent individual, started her academic from her hometown in India. Sketching, Painting, and craft are her favorite activities since her childhood. In her case, seeds were sown very early for choosing her ideal career. Being inquisitive, she was also equally inclined towards science. Fortunately, she found a mentor in her aunt. She was an Architect. She would explain how she needed to observe things from a different perspective. She found it intriguing and inspiring. Her vista towards art had changed entirely as she started looking at each built form with a completely different view. At SCET, Surat, India, she began her new voyage. During the course, she learned so many things and became familiar with all those architectural terms. Taking a cue from the words of Ar. Charles Correa, who believes that architecture is concerned with much more than its physical attributes, uses solids and voids, which is inspired by his projects and implies in her work. She is also Acknowledged for her hard work and got shortlisted for the Laurie Baker Centre workshop in Kochi. She became more familiar with contemporary materials and started innovatively experimenting with the old materials. Vernacular Architecture has always inspired her in every of her design. In the 4th year, she set off for 3 months of Research Program at UNIVERSIDAD DE POLITECNICIA DE CARTAGENA,Spain, and a 3 months internship period in Valencia, Spain. She interned at a Firm called ARQUISON DE ACOUSTICA. She was a part of many projects, from designing and converting a garage to a client\'s studio house. Then she learned the fundamentals of the material while working for the University of Berkley, Valencia, and got her hands to explore her methodology in designing a music institute in Ibiza. Ishita interned for another 4 months in a local firm called MSquare Architects. After her final thesis, She worked for 14 months at MSquare Architects to gain more knowledge. She went to Savannah College of Arts and design to opt for her Masters of Architecture degree. She experiences a vast difference of diversity in the work environment, culture, and teaching methodology. After her internship experience in Europe and India, she explored the US architectural style. She interned for 3 months at Blake, Neal, and zona Architects in Jacksonville. For her, the design is a tool that fills her desire for con­tributing to society. It also offers her a dais for dis­covering and introspecting herself and exploring newer edges that would have rather been very unfamiliar to her.
