About Ishant Patil
I am a Mechanical Engineering student at Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology, Surat, currently holding a CGPA of 8.62. With a strong passion for aerodynamics, vehicle design, and thermal management systems, I have gained hands-on experience in several cutting-edge projects that focus on applying engineering principles to real-world challenges, particularly in the realm of motorsports and automotive engineering. One of my most notable projects was the design of a sub-2 meter SAE competition aircraft, where I integrated an F1-inspired multi-element wing and a lift-producing fuselage. Through extensive CFD analysis using ANSYS Fluent and SolidWorks, I optimized the aircraft’s aerodynamic performance across various angles of attack. My project earned national recognition, securing 3rd place in the Design and Development Competition (DDC).In addition to my work in aerodynamics, I have also contributed to vehicle cooling system optimization, particularly for Li-ion battery packs used in electric vehicles. During my internship at NIT Surat, I engineered a cooling system using a variable frequency compressor and electronic expansion valve, achieving a 15% improvement in efficiency. My work involved conducting detailed two-phase flow simulations in ANSYS Fluent, leading to the development of two research papers for submission to the International Journal of Refrigeration. As the Co-Chairperson of the SAE NIT Surat chapter, I have had the privilege of leading multidisciplinary teams in aerodynamics and vehicle design projects. I have organized and overseen workshops, national competitions, and collaborative projects with industry experts, all while managing four key projects related to aeromodelling and automotive systems. In parallel, my leadership roles in the National Cadet Corps (NCC) as a Cadet, Lance Corporal, and Corporal have significantly enhanced my organizational, teamwork, and discipline-building skills. I scored 374 in the NCC B Certificate exam and regularly led cadets in drills and strategic exercises. My journey so far has been driven by a desire to innovate and apply engineering solutions to enhance performance, efficiency, and sustainability in motorsport and vehicle design. I am eager to further develop my skills and knowledge through challenging opportunities in the fields of aerodynamics, automotive engineering, and thermal systems.Let’s connect to explore how I can contribute my skills, passion, and expertise to your organization.
