About Ishan Modi
As the first and only member of my family to leave India for the West, I’ve learned the power of following your passion, no matter the obstacles. Hailing from a family of doctors, I was informed at a young age that I had the innate abilities to be one. However, my passion has always resided in the realm of business and finance. I was strongly discouraged from following this path, because as one person put it, “Modi, passions change, but genes do not.” Fortunately, I followed my passion - namely my love for business and finance. After earning my undergraduate degree in finance and graduate degree in business analytics from Penn State University, I became acquainted with, and fascinated by, the field of wealth management with guidance of a wonderful mentor. I found it to be the perfect marriage of my subject matter expertise in finance, strength in numbers, and love for client service. The field of wealth management has given me the opportunity to help my clients make sense of today\'s investment landscape by providing clear, straightforward financial advice tailored to each client’s unique challenges and life situation. That requires more than technical expertise. It requires empathy - the ability and desire to put yourself in your client’s shoes. And that is one of the things I love most about what I do.Having spent my formative years in Pennsylvania, today I live in Olmsted Falls, Ohio, with my wife, Pankti. Outside of work, I am a huge fan of the enthralling sport of cricket, which I played as a boy growing up near Mumbai. As a proud Nittany Lion, I enjoy giving back by mentoring finance students at my alma mater. I also volunteer with Atmyia Care Charities, a global humanitarian nonprofit that aims to enhance the lives of today’s youth. Pankti and I enjoy cooking, travelling, exploring national parks, and adventure activities.
