I work in the University of Pittsburgh\'s Kolarcik Lab, where the focal point of the research is to investigate Underlying Mechanisms in Neurodegenerative Disease. Our laboratory investigates the molecular mechanisms of motor neuron dysfunction in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). Through multidisciplinary approaches spanning cellular pathobiology, neural engineering, and systems neuroscience, we aim to identify therapeutic targets for this devastating condition. Our collaborative research seeks to advance the fundamental understanding of ALS pathophysiology while developing innovative treatment strategies to benefit patients and families affected by neurodegenerative disorders.
