As a qualified Lawyer and Associate Company Secretary with over 17 years of experience, I head the legal function for Unilever\'s Homecare business in India and also support the Media team of Hindustan Unilever Limited (common across all businesses). My role encompasses strategic legal advisory, contract management, M&A, litigation management, dispute resolution, ensuring compliance and mitigating risks for the largest business category of HUL with a turnover of USD 2.3 billion. I closely collaborate with the IPR, Regulatory and Tax teams on critical matters impacting the Homecare business. At Godrej Group, I contributed to significant corporate legal initiatives, including high value indirect tax litigation and advisory for India, SAARC, and Indonesia, and led a team of eight members. My role also involved review and evaluation of Alternate Investment Funds for the Godrej promoter group as part of strategic investment assessment. I also advised on compliance under SEBI (LODR) Regulations, contributed to the Business Responsibility and Sustainability Reporting (BRSR) framework, provided ongoing legal support to the CSR team and maintained close engagement with external auditors on contingent liabilities/ governance matters and provided updates to the Board. My focus remains on delivering actionable legal insights and fostering collaboration to support business growth in a dynamic market.
