About Isake Smith
I am informed and inspired by the dedication of educators, the challenges of Black womanist scholars, and the legacy of grassroots queer organizers. Currently, I work as a consultant focused on justice, equity, and inclusion through a critical appreciative inquiry lens. Previously, I designed and coached rowing programs for youth, adult, and adaptive athletes. I went on to design and facilitate curricula through Girls Inc. of New York City, helping to launch Generation Giga Girls, a brand new statistics program for high schoolers. Most recently, I was a consultant on best practices for building culturally sustaining learning spaces and products with Langston League, where our clients included Google’s Code Next team, Medgar Evers College, and Pratt Institute. I am a Posse Alumna, hold a BA in Psychology from Lawrence University, and a Master of Science in Non-Profit Management and Organization Development certificate from The New School. I am a native Brooklynite, and compare everywhere I go to the heart and soul of my city. I am always interested in talking about Star Trek, the MCU, and crochet patterns.
