WORK HISTORY
Medical Director @AdventHealth
Orlando, FL, US
As the Medical Director at the Advent Health Community Medicine Clinic, my role will be both challenging and rewarding. I have the privilege of leading a dedicated team of healthcare professionals in providing essential medical care to underserved patients in the community. Our mission is to break down barriers to healthcare access and ensure that everyone, regardless of their financial status, receives compassionate and high-quality medical attention. One of the most fulfilling aspects of my position is the opportunity to serve as an educator. I am deeply committed to teaching and mentoring family medicine and internal medicine residents. Through hands-on training and guidance, I aim to equip these aspiring physicians with the knowledge and skills they need to excel in their careers and serve the community effectively. By instilling in them the values of empathy and social responsibility, I hope to inspire them to make a meaningful impact on the lives of underserved populations. In my capacity as Medical Director, I strive to bridge the gap between clinical practice and medical education. I ensure that our clinic remains at the forefront of evidence-based medicine, incorporating the latest advancements in healthcare to benefit our patients. By fostering a collaborative and supportive environment within the clinic, we create a space where both patients and residents can thrive and grow together. Through these combined efforts, I am dedicated to making a positive difference in the lives of the underserved and contributing to a healthier, more equitable society.

ABOUT ISAIAH A. COCHRAN
Current first year resident in Family Medicine at Halifax Medical Center, in Daytona Beach FloridaImmediate Past President of the American Medical Student Association. I graduated from medical school in May 2019.I took a year between medical school and residency, to serve in this as AMSA President because I wanted to pay it forward to premedical and medical students, and AMSA gave me the platform to do that. I also want to continue to be empowered to be a physician who stands up for my patients in the clinic and outside of the clinic in regards to social justice.I sincerely want to be a physician who works with individuals inside and outside of the field of medicine, to give all individuals an equal opportunity in life.Following my year as president, I have become very interested in health policy. I plan to continue my work in policy as much as I can during and after residency. I believe that a physician can not afford to be engaged in politics in this day in age and achieve the optimum level of care for his/her patients.I also serve on the Medscape Editorial Advisory Board, the Prescription Justice Board both of which you can learn more about in my volunteer experiences.
