About Isabelle Howes
Isabelle Howes brings over a decade of experience in international government affairs to Ford’s Global Government Affairs team. She leads Ford Policy’s Geopolitical Risk team, and is responsible for tracking relevant geopolitical situations and their resultant impact to Ford Motor Company’s global business operations. In addition, Isabelle directly supports the Vice President of International Government Affairs, working closely with the global team to coordinate and execute government affairs strategies in all markets. Specifically, she supports Ford’s European government affairs team and manages relations with the European Embassy community and other U.S-based transatlantic stakeholders. Prior to joining Ford, Isabelle was an Associate at The Cohen Group where she helped lead over ten client accounts in sectors ranging from healthcare and information technology, to defense and aerospace, to manufacturing and automotive. In her capacity, Isabelle was responsible for supporting clients with international public policy efforts to include the development and execution of detailed business development, branding, corporate strategy, and market entry campaigns. Separate from her client portfolios, Isabelle served as the personal aide to the Chairman and CEO, former U.S. Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen, as well as to the Senior Counselor, General Curtis M. Scaparrotti (Ret.). She also helped manage the firm\'s Europe Practice, and led media relations for the firm. In addition to her time at The Cohen Group, Isabelle\'s prior work experience includes legal compliance at Quicken Loans, a district staff position in the office of late U.S. Congressman John Dingell, translator for the European art department at the Detroit Institute of Arts, and research associate for Professor Jeffrey Lantis, whom she helped complete a college textbook on U.S. foreign policy. She graduated with high honors from the Stephen M. Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan, and she holds a bachelor\'s degree in international relations from the College of Wooster where she was also awarded honors in political science and foreign languages. Her undergraduate thesis explored how multinational businesses can affect decision making in international treaty negotiations, with particular emphasis on U.S. and German automakers. In 2012, Isabelle attended the Sorbonne in Paris, France, and she spent five years living in Wiesbaden, Germany with her family. She is fluent in French, German, and English.
