Ronald McDonald House Charities is a nonprofit organization that supports families in need of medical treatment. Some of our many programs include housing, transportation services, mobile dental services, and financial support. In this role, I do office administration work, such as data entry, writing handwritten Thank-You letters to our donors, cutting flyers, setting up participation bags for fundraisers, and buzzing in visitors at the front entrance. I have also assisted families first-hand, whether at our annual Yard Sale or through our annual Food Drive. I have been working with my direct supervisor to completely revamp the way we schedule volunteers, whether they are Dinner, Dessert, or Family Room volunteers. Within the first day of launch of the new system, we completely booked volunteers for the rest of the month. I also interact directly with said volunteers, especially Dinner Group volunteers. Finally, I directly communicate with the C-Suite at our organization to learn more about their roles and assist them with tasks.
