About Isabella Mayo
Hi, my name is Bella Mayo and I am a fourth year, student-athlete on the women\'s soccer team at UC Davis. I am majoring in Psychology with a minor in Education. As an athlete I am capable of balancing both school and soccer at a competitive level. I have learned important skills that I can bring into the work force such as self-discipline, motivation, teamwork, resilience and many attributes that help me develop into the leader I am off the field. I also am the lead of our student-athlete mental health group called Athlete Guidance Support where I hope to bring athletes together and end the stigma around mental health. Through this group, I got to attend the NCAA APPLE conference where I networked and learned how we can help our athletic community with mental health at UC Davis. Furthermore, I am a mentor and an interviewer for Athlete to Athlete. This position has taught me how to work one on one with a younger athlete where I have to be personable and provide experiences and concrete tools to help them with their journey. After my athletic career, I hope to stay in the world of sports and guide the future generations of female athletes. I am extremely passionate about sports psychology and more specifically mental health in sports and the inner game of an athlete\'s performance. I want to combine the knowledge I have about soccer with my knowledge of the mental game by becoming a coach at the college level.
