About Isabella Cline
I’m a Clinical Laboratory Scientist at UAB Hospital, Alabama’s largest hospital and one of the top 15 largest hospitals in the U.S, with over 1,200 beds and Level 1 trauma designation. I hold a Master of Science in Clinical Laboratory Science and a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from The University of Alabama (2021), and I’m currently completing my MBA with a concentration in Health Services at UAB, expected Summer 2026. With a strong foundation in laboratory medicine and a passion for research and patient care, I am committed to improving quality, safety, and cost-effectiveness in clinical labs, while also enhancing both patient and employee satisfaction. During graduate training, my research partner and I placed first in the student research poster competition at the ASCLS Region Triennial Conference for our work on saliva-based RT-PCR testing as a non-invasive alternative to nasopharyngeal swabs for COVID-19 detection. I’m known for being highly adaptable and collaborative, with strengths in interprofessional communication, leadership, technical problem-solving, and lab management. My experience in a high-acuity, high-volume academic hospital has shaped my ability to perform accurately and efficiently under pressure. My long-term goal is to bridge communication gaps between healthcare professionals and reduce medical error through strategic leadership in lab operations and healthcare administration.
