About Isabel Scal
I am a global development professional at Chemonics International, Inc, providing project management and proposal development support on a variety of projects in the East and Southern Africa region. I am currently working as a Senior Associate on the USAID Famine Early Warning Systems Network, which provides timely food security analysis worldwide to inform global decision-making. I graduated from Middlebury College in February 2023, majoring in Global Security Studies with a focus on the climate-security nexus. I am passionate about climate security issues, particularly their impact on human security and conflict. I care deeply about working across environmental, humanitarian, and development silos to develop policies and practices best suited to the converging challenges of our current security landscape. In my free time I\'m a dancer, runner, and DC transplant! I love the outdoors and taking advantage of the many activities and events in the DC metro area.
