About Isabel Honda

I am an environmental engineer and computational oceanographer with multiple peer-reviewed publications developing statistical and machine learning approaches to model environmental and ocean systems. My professional interests include quantitative modeling of coastal ocean dynamics, investigating nature-based and marine carbon dioxide removal (mCDR) solutions to mitigate climate change, and applying evidence-based research to inform government policy on sustainable ecosystems.I received my PhD in Environmental Engineering and Computational Oceanography from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI) in 2025, and my bachelor\'s degree in Applied Mathematics from the University of California, Berkeley in 2019.
