As Global Senior Innovation Designer for The North Face, Isaac is the principal designer for advanced concept and innovation projects linked to TNF brand\'s innovation roadmap. ABOUT ISAAC OAKS
Isaac’s heart belongs to the outdoors, while his mind is captivated by design. With a family history of mountain guides and ski patrollers, he spent his childhood skiing, fishing, biking, and hiking. His passion for design blossomed from customizing his gear for these adventures.Isaac holds degrees in product design from Art Center College in Pasadena and Architecture from the University of Colorado. His varied professional background includes university research, architecture, technology, wearable electronics, health, furniture, footwear, and research methodologies. This wide-ranging experience has led him to specialize in designing outdoor equipment, such as packs, tents, and apparel. He has a proven track record with accolades such as IDSA, IDEA, and five ISBO awards.Isaac has served as the Senior Innovation Designer at The North Face for the past three years, leading multidisciplinary teams to develop advanced research methodologies, concepts, and innovative solutions. His expertise in directing advanced concept design across apparel, technology franchises, and materials has refined his ability to evolve the brand into the future.Collaboration and brainstorming facilitation are key elements of Isaac’s approach. He closely collaborates with the design and merchandising teams to align innovative solutions with the brand’s vision, keeping pace with trends to create relevant products. He has broadened the brand’s intellectual property portfolio and nurtured strategic R&D partnerships with vendors and contractors.
